Katherine Dafforn
Dr Katherine Dafforn is a Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University. Katie’s research aims to understand and manage human impacts on aquatic communities. To do this, Katie has developed novel monitoring tools to measure waterway health, and has been involved in the ecologically-friendly design of marine artificial structures.
Mariana Mayer Pinto
Mariana is a Scientia Senior Lecturer in the School of Biological, Earth and Environmental Science at University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. She obtained her PhD in Marine Sciences from the University of Sydney, 2009 and holds a MSc in Zoology from Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mariana's research focuses on understanding the mechanisms underpinning biodiversity and the functioning of marine ecosystems. In particular, she is interested in how anthropogenic stressors, such as contamination and urbanisation, affect the marine environment with the ultimate goal of developing evidence-based solutions for not only mitigating their impacts, but also restoring and rehabilitating marine ecosystems
Ezequiel Marzinelli
Dr Ezequiel "Ziggy" Marzinelli is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Sydney, Australia. Ziggy's research focuses on understanding the processes that generate, maintain and impact marine ecosystems. His research has contributed to understanding the role microbes play on coastal marine ecosystems and to restoration of habitat-forming macrophytes in the context of environmental change
