I am a scientist at the CNRS and I work at the ECOSEAS laboratory, Nice France
I graduated from the University of Pisa (Italy) in Biology in 1995. I received a PhD degree in Animal Biology at the University of Modena (Italy) in 1999. I then worked as Marie Curie post-doc and fixed-term researcher at different universities and research institute around the world (University of Sydney, Australia; NIOZ, The Netherlands, University of Coimbra, Portugal). In 2010 I was appointed as CNRS researcher, based in Montpellier until 2018 and then at the University of Nice. My research focuses on the ecology of benthic coastal ecosytems, including seagrass meadows. I have published around 55 peer-reviewed papers (h index: 25) and more than 20 technical report and other literature. During the last 5 years I worked on seagrass and beach ecology and on environmental education. I have coordinated 4 research projects funded by EU (Marie Curie fellow supervision, HEALSEA project, 2018-2020) or by French government (ECOMED, 2021-2022) and private foundations (DIVGRASS, MEDPLAGE projects). I recently obtained a grant to hire a PhD student to work on the urban ecology of small Marinas (CIFRE program).
